Nicole Nielsen for C F Hancock

Sometimes referred to as the "maker's maker", the firm of Nicole Nielsen produced complete watches for the better known manufacturers and retailers of the Victorian period, amongst them Dent , Frodsham and Tiffany.

Their extensive catalogue included complications such as split second chronographs and tourbillons, and their work is recognisable by the keyless winding system patented by Adolphe Nicole in 1844. The quality of their work is staggering.

A reprint of their 1910 catalogue is available from

AntiqueWatchStore.com @ £15.00
