ABOUT MICHAEL MORTON LEE

 

Now living in the Yorkshire Dales, Michael had a long career fitting out the mechanical parts of yachts and motor boats on England's south coast. Always fascinated by engineering, he has a passion for the intricacies of mechanical watches.

 

Michael's family has strong connections with antiques and horology. His great grandfather Henry Morton Lee used to be King George V's barber, but started a successful business selling antiques in London, soon to be joined by his two sons Henry Morton (Mo) and Ronald. Mo ran Chichester Antiques and was a President of the British Antique Dealers Association, and Ronald A Lee went on to be an extremely successful and well known dealer in works of art, specialising in early English clocks, joined by his son Charles and daughters Victoria and Georgina. Michael's father John Morton Lee had a second career as a dealer in marine watercolours after leaving the Royal Navy.

 

Michael is an Associate Member of the British Horological Institute.
